Multicultural Youth Leadership
Initiative for Excellence
The Multicultural Youth Leadership Initiative For Excellence (MYLIFE) Project is an eight month program for 8th grade students in both Pueblo City Schools and Pueblo District 70. The project’s intent is to help develop leadership potential, with a strong commitment to community involvement. Program sessions will be held at various institutions of higher education and businesses throughout the Southern Colorado community.
About MYLIFE
The mission of MYLIFE is to create a leadership experience for Pueblo youth of all ethnic heritages that enhances civic engagement, fosters leadership, encourages education, and promotes career and professional development.
During the months of October through May seventy-five eighth grade students of all cultural heritages will be provided transportation to the various workshop sessions typically once a month with adjustments made for testing and holidays.
Sessions will include the following topics: My Choices (making good decisions), My Community (getting involved in your community), My Future (college/career preparation), My Integrity (values), and an onsite local Business Resource Day.
