Grant Partner Spotlight: Huerfano County Youth Services

Huerfano County Youth Services, otherwise known as the Sangre de Cristo Center for Youth, is one of four grantees of the Southeast Regional Council in the area of youth mental health resiliency. The persistence and dedication of grant partners like Sangre de Cristo Center for Youth are the lifeblood of the Regional Partnerships program, and especially the Southeast Regional Council and its focus on youth mental health and resiliency.

Understanding The Landscape of Youth Mental Health Support in the San Luis Valley

In 2021, the Colorado Children’s Hospital declared a state of emergency in youth mental health in Colorado, leading the San Luis Valley Regional Council to complete a Youth Mental Health Landscape Analysis in 2022. The Council, with the support of El Pomar staff, compiled a list of organizations, funders and government agencies working to address youth mental health.
